Scenario
During the 1972 Munich Olympics, an American sports broadcasting team was forced to cover a hostage crisis involving Israeli athletes
The performances are believable, the comedy in the right places and a pace and timing that won’t let you look at the exit before the credits roll.
Some may find it tedious not having the scenes change, but I think it worked in this case
For someone who doesn’t really know the story, the details of what happened are really interesting and they did a great job of not telegraphing plot points.
They touched the political and emotional elements well
I think they wanted you to feel like the control room was your world, and feel like they were on this eventful day.
Makes you think without preaching
Mixing footage from the actual event, including broadcast footage, definitely gives you a more immersive experience.
A nice touch
It’s not really a movie I’d watch again and again, but it’s a very well-made piece that I’d recommend to friends who like movies like this.
