Landman, at least one who works in oil will act as a middleman between exploration companies and landowners. Typically, the landowner’s job is to negotiate and finalize contracts with landowners with mineral rights to lease those rights to the companies they represent. Essentially, they manage the land and secure the lease so they can drill for oil and gas. As foremen on a job site, they build roads, housing for workers (man camp), oversee the installation of excavation and drilling machines on the job site itself, especially in remote locations. For someone so focused on his goals, including an emotionally unstable one-woman circus completely undermines the purpose of the show. Her character seems to disrupt the central narrative, adding unnecessary chaos rather than supporting her journey. The portrayal does not enhance the story, but rather makes it difficult to take her determination and focus seriously. Similarly, the roles of his wife and daughter seem out of place. The wife seems emotionally unpredictable, while the daughter lacks intellectual depth, making her contribution to the plot insignificant. The daughter’s performance seems particularly shallow, as her character offers little more than superficial engagement, which adds no value to the story. What’s more, these characters constantly jump around in provocative clothing, seemingly for no purpose other than to draw attention, which seems out of sync with the tone of the show. Rather than enhancing the plot or character dynamics, this approach seems like a shallow tactic to draw attention. It’s a strange and unnecessary addition that detracts from the overall quality of the narrative.
