Who has his own, not a quest, goals in life. And is it necessary to say that this part of the story is fulfilled … somewhat better than beating a Western harbor from NWN 2?

Of course, this system is very artificial – but the battle looks good, and managing your team is not easy and interesting. What is more? Possibly eliminate routine from command?

Although in Dragon Age, as in Baldur’s Gate, there is an “active pause”, to constantly distribute manually orders to the four dummies tiring. And not very effective: sometimes your heroes see the situation more precisely.

Remember how infuriates in many games (Neverwinter Nights, both the first and the second), the obscene habit of heroes is not in their business? When the sorceress suddenly decides that it is impossible to do without her staff in the front row, the archer grabs the sword, and the paladin begins to frantically create spells? And as a warrior in the forefront, hesitantly perishes, without realizing a drink of a potion, – or vice versa, whips blue bottles like water, for nothing that the priest calls back to God about heavy wounds?

So, in Dragon Age this is not. If you take care of at least a little bit and configure tactics. And not a single computer roof I knew still visible such accuracy of the settings.

I have only one complaint to the appearance of the game. And this is blood. But what case I remember is stronger than others ..

Playing Dragon Age is amazingly convenient. And this is not just a control made by "straight hands" – it has many small useful finds in it. For the entire time of the game, only one interface detail has upset me: do you want to, if you want not, but there is no Progress bar in the local loading screen. Imagine how convenient it is to play if it is the most good claim!

Bioware with a firm and ruthless hand, I missed all the “familiar standards” from the game, from which there was no joy, but only a hindrance to the game.

So, for example, outside the battle, health and mana are restored quickly – you can not engage in the management of the camping hospital. Simplification of the game? Rather, cutting excess elements. And in addition, enrichment of tactics: you can try to play without a healer. A little more difficult, but it will be possible to sharply increase the firing power.

If the assessment of the game should be reduced for something, then only for the Russian translation. Not that he was terrible, rather decent, but – not worthy of the game.

The translator of texts tried well, although I didn’t figure out what (in the end can be found in the game, for example, a cabinet called “armor” – apparently Armoire confused with Armour?). Translations of the terms are also quite decent, the only large blunder is Rogue, which turned out to be a "robber". Actually, this translation will sometimes come down (for example, in WOW), but certainly not in Dragon Age. Man-Rogue there, for example, is proposed the only option for origin: a nobleman. But the main minus is voice acting. Acting voices in English and in Russian-this is heaven and earth. In addition, the translator did not bother to arrange stress for actors; As a result, a white verse turns into a damn thing. And in some places the logical stress “moved”, changing the meaning of the phrase. Inaccurate!

In some medium game, it would get away with. But here, where every phrase is written out with love, and every companion becomes a good acquaintance to the player, you can’t.

The last two points are easy to confuse among themselves. So, “talents and spells” are mainly those actions that you can use in battle. And the skills determine your overall effectiveness. And if the talents and spells come to you 1 each level, then skills are only in three levels, and you can’t change them in any way.

We are offered a choice of three races – a person, an elf, a dwarf – and three classes: a warrior, a magician, a robber (I will already use this clumsy translation). You can create only one hero – he will be our embodiment in the game; The rest of the team – up to three satellites are allowed at a time – will gather along the way.

Of course, there is no such wealth of choice as in Baldur’s Gate; However, we take into account that two heroes of the same class due to abilities are very strong, and starting from the 7th level, they can try to take specialization (four options for each class). The repertoires of magicians are especially very different.

You will really need money in the game, because traders have enough expensive things to be purchased. With potions, bombs, weapons, components, recipes for herbalists and poisoners, everyone will figure it out himself, but I would like to draw your attention to objects that you should especially look for from all oncoming merchants:

However, most of the gifts are interested in only one of your friends, the rest of you will receive a penny increase and a slight decrease in interest in gifts in the future. You can regularly change the composition of the group – wherever you can arrange a halt. This will not help you in the dungeon, but before going there – quite.

Before you start inventing the hero, I have to give a little advice. True, he borders with the spoiler, so if you want to avoid this, immediately proceed to the next chapter.

The fact is that among the satellites who are in the game, many soldiers, they make up almost two -thirds of the list. And magicians and robbers – only two. Moreover, among the magicians there is not a single “artilleryman”, but there is a magnificent healer named Winn and a Wizard-Wonderland (that is, a magician with the possibility of close combat).

“Tank” you, in principle, will be almost from the very beginning, and very good. There are alternatives to him, but they are usually better adapted for the role of the Hitoboy tank: for example, Stan-He will be with you soon-he convincingly wields a two-handed sword.

Also, from the very beginning, a creature will be with you who makes damage well in close combat and can occasionally stun all enemies, that is, partly works as a “subordinate”. But he almost does not have equipment, which greatly limits its capabilities.

It will soon be possible if you are careful, to attach a barda robber: this is a “chitoboy-subpoor”, but this specific satellite can more able to subordinate than to inflict damage. The second robber will be found much later, and he is a specialist exclusively in the murder.

This should be borne in mind before creating the original hero. I myself, of course, did not know this at the beginning of the game and chose the robber with the first hero. But it cannot be said that I really regretted it.

Characteristics

Strength

Each unit of power here:
