Seen at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) September 14, 2024 (first viewing) Format: Regular Theatrical Rating: 8/10 I’m surprised how this movie can be so many things at once. It balances each genre and gives it enough time in a way that doesn’t make it seem too much. Every acting performance in this movie is excellent, especially Zoe Saldana in the first half of the movie and Karla Sofia Gascó in the second half. of the movie who played two roles in this movie perfectly.

Unfortunately, everything about Selena Gomez, her acting and character needed some extra effort

A very weak character who was just filler to make things more complicated for the main character and the events of the story. musicals are not my thing, this movie handled that part in such a unique way that made every song performance in terms of creative direction and lyrics. The two songs that really caught my attention is one that touched on the political aspect in Mexico that had such a creative and unique direction. The second one really showed off Zoe Saldana’s performance as it was brilliant with all the dark and minimal lighting it had.
