Scenario
Married to a prominent politician during Brazil’s military dictatorship, a woman must reinvent herself and forge a new path for herself and her children after her family’s life is torn apart by violence and arbitrary action. The first collaboration between Fernanda Montenegro and Walter Salles 26 years after the release of Glavni kolodvor (1998), for which Montenegro was nominated for an Oscar for Best Actress.

Detailed scenography, a simple script, natural interpretations, a hand-picked soundtrack, precise editing – everything contributes to the fact that the director is able to convey exactly what he intended. Because I knew the story, I had read the book on which the film was based and read reports about it.
