Check out writer/director Taylor Sheridan’s most popular movies and TV shows, ranked by user ratings on IMDb. At least one landowner who works in the oil industry will serve as an intermediary between exploration companies and landowners. Typically, a landowner’s job is to negotiate and finalize agreements with landowners who own mineral rights to lease those rights to the company they represent.

Essentially, they manage and obtain leases on the land so they can drill for oil and gas. Like a foreman on a construction site, they build roads, housing for workers (man camps), and oversee the assembly of drilling rigs and drilling of wells, especially in remote locations. They are also, in part, fixers, problem solvers, and facilitators.
Landman is another success in their long line for Taylor Sheridan
This series has everything you want from a good series: drama, action, twists and turns, even a little humor, etc. It’s obviously beautifully written, like everything Sheridan does, but it also has an incredible cast. We get the incredible Billy Bob Thornton, Jon Hamm, Ali Larter, Demi Moore, etc.
Hamm is the same
Billy Bob Thornton was born to play this role, and he’s fantastic here. I’d be shocked if he wasn’t nominated for an Emmy for his performance here. In addition to being beautifully written and acted, it’s also beautifully filmed.
It looks like it’s going to last a long time, and I’m here for it
Sheridan has a really good series under his belt and Landman is one of the best of them.
