Is it a political film?
In a way, Roy Cohn steals the show really Jeremy Strong. He is absolutely brilliant as a ruthless lawyer with no scruples. Three of his business rules will become essential in Trump’s career. Sebastian Stan as Trump is also wonderful: he shows some of Trump’s typical mannerisms without overdoing it. Even his way of speaking is on point without becoming a parody.

Basically, it’s the story of a businessman who makes it in New York. The film ends in 1986 when Cohn dies. At the time, Trump had not even begun his television career, let alone his political endeavors. But Abbasi did not resist the temptation to include the 1980s. interview with Rona Barrett in which he jokes about running for president.
